I'de trade my 401K for a gallon of gas.

I should have picked up 3 gallons of gas on my way home from the airport. There still isn't any gas in western N.C. The colleges have closed, businesses are empty, armed people are camped out in filling stations waiting for that police-escorted gas truck. Our sub-prime government officials are right on top of the crisis. The governor blames a lack of liquidity in the storage facilities caused by Hurricane Ike. That was three weeks ago. The voters are going to orchestrate a leveraged vote out in November.

haven't seen this since 1978, I think it was, and before that, 1973. Strange world.

Babba, Just think GREEN! You won't add to your carbon foot print as much if you run out of gas! Got a ten speed bike?
On another note, I would like to think that medical folk, such as yourself, would somehow get priority.

As far as everyone's 401K ... "it's safe in our government's hands" just look at the way they're "helping out" the major banks and auto makers.... you'll be fine!

I'm just very happy to have changed citizenship a long time ago. We have a leader who'll rule with a rod of iron and His government is eternal!

Dorian, I haven't ever been this mad at the government. Wall Street bailout, car makers bailout, pork barrel attached to the bill, and we can't seem to orchestrate getting gas to a city after 3 weeks. I might be exhorted to pray for those in government, but I'm also looking for the groundswell that will finally say enough. Trouble is, I don't think we'll see it. I think the majority want Big Daddy to take care of them. Makes me crazy.

M

The government hasto bailout GM because it's dictating what kind of cars the company must make.

Thank you, FDR...this many years later, what term of his presidency is it?

I could let you have some plans for a hydrogen generator to replace your gasoline problems.
